Monday, October 13th, 2008

David Beckham, a world-renowned soccer star has had few stints in the movies. Even after moving to Los Angeles, David has expressed his lack of interest in movie career.

‘Bend it like Beckham’ was the first movie that supposedly starred David Beckham. David never personally appeared in the movie ‘Bend it like Beckham’ that was released in 2002. David and Victoria could not adjust to the shooting schedules. Thus, the real appearance of David Beckham was replaced by lookalikes and archives footage.

Movie “Goal: The Dream Begins” was released in 2005. David Beckham played minor role in the movie. Lookalike Andy Harmer stared in the movie, which had also played the role in ‘Bend it like Beckham’. “Goal 2: Living the Dream”, a sequel to Goal 1, has cast David Beckham in a larger role. Goal 3 is another sequel to Goal 1, would be released in 2008.

“Asterix at the Olympic Games” is the movie that displays David Beckham other than himself. Movie’s release is scheduled to coincide with 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.
