So what are scene hairstyles? It is actually a retro look and harks back to the best days of the 1980’s music scene. There is though no true definition and many people see scene hairstyles as constantly evolving. There is a lot of similarity with the Emo hairstyle, and it is expected that for females at least, part of the fringe will cover one eye. There is though less use of black and more use of neon colors.

Scene hairstyles can incorporate mullets, bobs and long bangs. For the best look try spiking up the hair at the back of your head and straighten up the sides. Also use highlights and lowlights to create a really powerful contrast.

I personally think scene girls are very hot. The hairstyle, the make-up, they’re just fabulous.

I love everything about a scene girl. A real scene girl; No wanna-be or poser.

They’re amazing and absotively posalutely gorgeous!!!

  2. greg on June 5th, 2008 at 12:43 am

    WANNABES

  3. LEAH on June 5th, 2008 at 7:51 pm

I REALLIE LIKE ALL OF THEM BUT NOT THE SECOND ONE LOL

  4. Karly on June 8th, 2008 at 6:05 pm

so, pretty much the first and fourth one are posers. the second is kiki kannibal. dont let her so you with coontails, she gets pissed.
the last one is what a scene girl is looking like these days. big hair, snake bites, septum rings, its how it goes (:

  5. gabrielle on June 9th, 2008 at 3:32 pm

being scene has evolved to the worst possible way these days. These hairstyles are not scene because if they were theyd be unique and everyone has them. To be trully scene you would be different from everyone else. All of these girls are not wannabes they just simply identify themselves as part of the wrong style.

  6. Chloe BLAHBLAH on June 11th, 2008 at 3:36 am

personally im really annoyed with the entire “scene” and “emo” thing..YOU ALL LOOK THE SAME! and yet u think you’re unique..
    its really annoying.

it looks like you spend several hours in the morning just focusing on your hair. for cripes sake get a life.

  7. Rachel on June 13th, 2008 at 12:33 am

I honestly don’t believe there’s a true definition to being a “scene girl” anymore… there’s so many “preps” and generic girls who try to be “scene” by just taking elements of the style and trying to make it “their own”.

And quite frankly, of all the alleged scene girls that I know, none of them ever actually go to shows :/

  8. Christina on June 13th, 2008 at 12:38 am

How do i get my hair to look like that?.
    Did you get extentions..
If so, how much did they cost.?

  9. kayla on June 17th, 2008 at 3:33 am

  11. karolina on June 20th, 2008 at 4:09 pm

i dont understand why people hate scene? i personallyy LOVE it.

  12. Rachel on June 29th, 2008 at 4:59 am

I think the 2nd one is tackie.
I don’t like it at all.
Scene, to me, is about being classy and unique at the same time.
    Not freaking weird.

  13. Paris on July 3rd, 2008 at 9:03 pm

None of them r blondie! laifnac

  14. Katherine on July 6th, 2008 at 12:21 am

I am not a fan of Kiki Kannible. I love the third pic, though. She’s peerrrrrrrty. And the last one is awesome. But why are you people calling those girls posers? You can’t tell by looking at them, so, unless you know them personally, I don’t see how it’s fair for you to say that. And all scene hairstyles are NOT the same! I don’t see very many scenies with MY hair, and I’m what most people consider scene.

  15. Crystal- Joy on July 6th, 2008 at 6:39 pm

my opinnions on “scene” are that 1. it’s AMAZING 2. i wouldn’t be anything but “scene” 3. if you think that its freaky or ugly then you have got some MAJOR problems.

i chose to be scene because it allows me to be myself i don’t have to follow rules about what to wear or how to do your make up… in fact i completely trashed those rules. i made my own rules. and that is what scene is.

  16. shelby on July 8th, 2008 at 12:38 am

    i like the first one
but you can’t see the back and i want my hair like that.
could you get a picture of like that back and side or something?

  17. Natalie on July 10th, 2008 at 4:33 pm

Kiki kannibal is a twat and ’scene’ has well and truly faded away those who try look like that now are proper milking it i personally thinks it looks shit when people try to be something theyr not. you all look the same! when all this alternative shit came out it was ‘individual’ and people were expressing themselves in a different way now its just the innn thing get a new haircut!

  18. Sam on July 11th, 2008 at 12:07 am

I think I’m going to get the 3rd one for my hair, not the color, just the cut.
And I’m not scene, nor am I trying to be, I just really like the hair, and I have for a long time.

  19. LILYBILLY on July 12th, 2008 at 2:35 am

    WOW!!
i personally like scene hair but some look so DISCUSTING!!
honestly STOP OVER TEASING YOU DAMN HAIR!!!

  21. EWW on July 12th, 2008 at 5:03 pm

    EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW
    Look at the second one.
    Ew.
    Racoon much?
    Wow.
    Gag me with a spoon.
    That is so rubby.
Just like emo’s and their hair.
    EW!
Like seriously get some normal hair.
And that eyeliner, wow too much there.
And guys, seriously, no one wants hair like that.
    Ughh soo out of style.
    Mhm.

  22. Micky on July 13th, 2008 at 8:46 pm

Wow, the second one’s hair is sooo lame. The stripy bangs look stupid, and they’re obviously extensions. Scene is an awesome style, but they all look the same which is dumb. The one with the pink and black hair is a poser, the first one has nice hair and the third one has nice hair…but it isn’t really scene. I love their makeup though, I’ve tried to get mine like that for like ever…how do they do it??!! Seriously where do you get like electric pink/green/blue eyeshadow??! Does anyone know??!

  23. me. on July 14th, 2008 at 8:40 pm

    or on like it?

  25. dylan-ducky! on July 17th, 2008 at 3:07 am

god god god god god! i LLLOOOOOOVVVVVVVVVVEEEEEEEEEEEE the second one!!!!! i wood hella date her. and all you peeps sayin its ugly yur just jealous! cus u could NEVER EVER IN A VAJJILION YEARS pull that off. you have absaulutly NO CLUE what scene/emo is about. and yea i will agree that all these fake ass preps and blacks kids are trying to take punk and scene but who gives a shit? everyone knows their all pussy ass posers. so wtf? the same thing happened with skaters and their shoes and rockers with their studded belts and punks with the skuulls and bright colors. personally i hate everyone that trys to be what theyre not. black kids are black so stick to rap. and preps are blonde white chicks and they arent good at anything but spending money. so save it, paris hilton fans. emo and scene and everything in that category, it doesnt have a specific race or whatever its just how you live. if you listen to rap/hip hop/r+b your NOTTTT emo or scene or anything like that. so just stay the way you are a leave us actual scene kids alone. you dont see us trying to steal your clothes and music and hair and shit. so you guys are all the same. shity shitholes!!!!!
    -|)yL@n Ducky!

  28. Iram on July 18th, 2008 at 7:30 pm

Omfg, i totally L O V E it!. I love thii whole “too much eyeliner”, and short layers long hair type thing. Its HOT!

  29. Kaitlin on July 25th, 2008 at 7:21 pm

Personally, I don’t understand why people get mad over other people calling themselves scene or emo?! Those terms are used for when you are trying to be unique and showing your own individuality isn’t it? And you can’t tell me that you can dictate who is or isn’t emo or scene by a picture?! All four of these girls are gorgeous in their own unique way! I just don’t see the point concerning you with who is what. There are too many looks out there today that resemble something else, it’s hard to say what their trying to portray. So if they want to call themselves emo or scene, let them! It’s not going to affect you in anyway!

  30. dropdeadjessica on July 28th, 2008 at 4:54 am

ok i have that kind of hair and scene is uniquie and i love the neon colors

and i have a bunch of neon colored extensions and yes most scene girls have extensions

    i personaly love the coontails

(for people who dont know wat those are there streaks in your hair that is streaked horizontally)

ex. kiki kannibles bangz in the picture with the girl holding the lamp(thtas kikikannible!!)

and yes i go to shows
    like
i just recentl went to see
    a skylit drive
    bless the fall
    jenny
    blackout
    and greeley estates
    <3

  31. Lexi on July 30th, 2008 at 3:55 am

    Hah,
    I love all of it.
Personally I think emo and scene have diffrences.
    Just like goth and emo.
    But thats up too you.
and I too have “scene” hair, but I don’t refer to it as “scene”
    Its just hair.
    Just a hair style.
If people want neon pink or green or blue choppy, or short.
    Thats their own buisness
    They like it.
and I’m pretty sure they don’t give a fuck about what half these people say on here.
    thnks.

  32. jr16 on August 2nd, 2008 at 6:03 am

  35. WTF! on August 8th, 2008 at 6:54 pm

Personally who gives a s**t i love scene and emo hairstyles…but i hate how everything has to have a label..who cares if someone gets a crazy looking hairstyle like the second picture..as long as they like it and they are just having fun with it then who cares…also what’s with this whole poser shit just because someone gets there hair cut a certain way…why the hell are they a poser…they just might like the hairstyle and not trying to be in the scene style…so what the hell…anyone who just want to go crazy with their hair go ahead and do it because who gives a s**t..
