Scene Haircuts

Scene haircuts are constantly evolving and a definition today could be different from what is expected from scene haircuts tomorrow. Currently in 2008 scene haircuts it is all about using hair products to get a look.

For girls scene haircuts the current look is to go for perfectly straight hair. It is normally black with long coloured stripes; the colours normally are bright and can be neon. The fringe can either be straight or could involve a long bang covering one eye.

Boys’ scene haircuts currently make use of a slightly longer length hair at the back, which should be spiked, again with strong highlights intermixed. Boys are expected to have layers in their hair to a level just below the jaw line.

Scene style is nothing more than Japanese animae gone human. After all, what is style? Style is any movement of lemmings trying to look like something or someone else is all the while claiming to be individualistic. It is no different than the spiked “just got out of bed” hair style for was first seen in a Kellogs Corn Flakes commercial where the guy was eating his cereal with his hair all “bedheadded” and it caught on as an “individualistic style.” In the end, all you have is a bunch of self proclaimed “individuals” all looking the same until the style gods come up with something new.

Want an example of scene hair? Look at Amy Winehouse. She is the originator of the look in that she is known in the UK for “making a scene” with her drunken stoner UTube rants. I guess if people want to look like a heroin shooting crack wh*re thinking they are “hip” then have at it. Personally, I don’t know many blokes who find it attractive.

    i love these hair cuts…
    i happen to have one…
and i dont care for peoples opinions..everyone is entitled one but…
i hate it when people push their opinions on other people or preach…
let people like scene hair cuts if they want…
    its their life…
    and plus…
scene boys are really hawt! aka the hottest! Alexandre Evans aka alex evans….
any questions about what to say to a hairdresser to get the cut….or styling questions….just ask…my e-mail is Punkets_93@yahoo.com and my myspace is http://www.myspace.com/ilovegreendaynbillie

personally i think scene is more like an attitude rather than a style. its not something you can choose because its worn differently inside of everyone. thats why there are so many poser scene kids, its fuckkken annoying. ferrr serious, its about being yourself and not trying to fit the ideal label people throw out there for you, if your interested in geography or ancient art or stuff like that flaunt it, completely make it your own vogue and people will think thats fabulous. alrightt the end,
    be yourself kids
    fall out of labels.
    theyre all bullshit

  17. miffy on June 5th, 2008 at 1:07 pm

i love scene hair, i get called scene all the time (i dont mind what people lable me realy and maybe i am a bit scene) because i brought racoon tail extensions, although my hair is not dark it is very blonde and geting blonder. scene hair is not that expensive once you have it you use a mixture of both backcombing straightening and hair spraying to get it how you want it, if you buy a good hair spray such as toni&guy firm hold hair spray or fudge cement hair spray its stays all day and the products last for ages.
im getting a new hair cut soon, im going for the lego look with choppy obvious layers and extensions that are 18″ :]
    i cant wait

Where I am currently located, this whole “scene” extravaganza is out of control, well kinda. There was a couple of “scene boys” and ” scene girls” there, but then there are the posers. My friend Maddyyy and I, yeah, we pretty much started the trend at school. With the extensions and coontails and big hair. I know some girl bought synthetic hair extensions that were yellow, and glued them in TOTALLY wrong, looked like a bumble bee of some sort. All my friends love my hair, but I change it alot. Ive done so many of my friends’ hair, its insane. I’m really good at it and give good advice on styling.

I mean, some “scene kid” have originality, and then some dont. Some people have all the same hair. Not me though. But, my point is that its just a matter of getting it done right, if not, you kinda seem like a poser.

well, if any y’all need some advice from a “scene girl”, just hit me up on myspace (:

I think scene hair and make-up is beautiful.
It’s so creative and I love the look,
I AM a wannabe. and a poser to scene people. My sister is scene, i wish i looked like her. Scene hair is so unique, so many people have it, but every scene person I see has a DIFFERENT type of hair. I love it to death. ?

In my opinion, i am in the process of growing my hair(i avoid the barbershop now) Mind i am a guy and i think scene girls are adorable and cute. Problem with my hair is that its thick and worst of all wavy XP. So needless to say the straightener will be my friend. Now i noe many ppl hate on scene’s and emo’s and yes i agree that there posers out there too but its there problem cuz tthere not being true to themselves. Sure we may be different but ppl u are too and u dont want to be criticized and hated on do u?

I love them on girls but i don’t want one for myself because they take so much effort and i’m personaly waaaaay to lazy to do that i apperciate the artistic and work that goes into the scene guys hair its just too much for lazy people like me although i did have a mohawk last summer but what was great about that is all i had to do was push over to one side and i was good to go lots of girls spend for ever on their hair even if it isnt sexy like these so the extra work that comes with these cuts don’t bother them because they used to it all i do to my hair is run my fingers in it towards my face so this shit is way to effort for me to put out

im sooo sick n tired of ma hair it use to be black but i dyed to brown and i have a light brown skin and it suits bt the question is “what hairstyle?” and i want to have a funky so today i will try to straighten ma hair and try to make it like the ones here

Okay well I have shortish hair, like almost to my shoulders.
And its kind of scene but definantly not like the pictures above.
And I dye my hair about once a month, and this month I really want to go crazy with colors and I was wondering if anyone had any ideas of what hair colors I could do?
I at least want to add some Electirc blue and some pink?
    Any other ideas?

i think that scene is a grea way to show a different side to every person. Now a days everybody is goign emo n scene is now makeing a scene in the world. Scene is a great style n everybody should tyr it. They r so unique with the different ways to cut n color their hair. If u want to make a scene them be scene.

You know, if you want to stand out and say your uniuqe then do your own hair, i’ve been cutting my own hair since freshman year of highschool and i know i have a different cut then everyone.
I have the side swept bangs and the many many choppy thin layered hair, but you know what. All that makeup those pepoel are wearing make them scene and emo.
Seriously without akll that make up they would look just like a regular person, they are a person, but they just have there label tagged along with all that makeup.

Some of you over think everyhting and say it ugly or so, but i bbet all of you have something in this realm of a hair cut.
nothiong is new. unlesss you shave yourself bald, you look just like this.
so stop trying to be all, you all are the same, thats bull. I’m tired of seeign that.

I love the hairstyles, and people who trashtalk people who have thse haircuts need to get a life. Just becasue they have more originality than you doens’t mean you have to get all sucky about it.

I had one a while ago but grew it out. I’m thinking about getting another one, but need some photos, if anyone can send me some I would be very grateful.

Why hello, I am looking for a new haircut. Soon I am getting a trim, and I don’t want too keep my hair the same. I have a kind-a emo bob type. I want my hair longer, but my mum wont let me get extensions or weives. So I am looking for a short one, if any body has any images of short scene hair, please send too my email address.
    x-forgotten-x@hotmail.co.uk
Please don’t send emo one’s, I would like a more lively scene style. Or if you are, sned me emo/scene.
    Thankies. :)

  81. kelsey on July 25th, 2008 at 3:24 pm

Personally, i think that scean is an awsome way to display what you belive in to the world.
some people think that oh well just because you dress like this means oh ur emo
this is what hapned to me and i think its awsome,
some of my frieends even stoped hanging out with me because i looked like this,
i told them to get a life and stop judjing people from what they were how they dress or what there music intrests are. so for anyone who is on hear to make fun of/ diss the style i just wanna say. “you’re cool when…”

    silly little emos.

if you spent less time on doing your hair and makeup, you might accomplish something.

  86. alex on August 1st, 2008 at 2:03 am

hey if you want some great pics of scene hairstyles, photobucket is your best friend. it has thousands of pics and some of the people on there get really creative. this one chick has leopard print in her highlights. its like oh-ehm-gee uh-maze-ing!!

  87. H-Fergg on August 3rd, 2008 at 7:32 pm

    okaiii,,
has everyone in this world forgot what scene and origionality is all about? How can this style possible be unique if everyone has it, and there are specific ways to do it? Videos, blogs, and picture images on how to get your hair to look “scene”? Now its just a trend among preppy girls, who are actually posers. The girls on this page have truely unique hair, but honestly, there is nothing unique about this style any longer.

I love scene hair. It’s awesome. Get the hair and dress for it. Dont listen to what people say. Be confident and you will rock the look. But keep in mind it takes alot of time every morning to get the hair and dress. It’s hard! Trust me. The hair, if you wanna be very scene, dont just have a natural color. If it was around when people were walking around nude, its not scene. Color! Coontails! Layers! Hairspray! Lots. TEASE TEASE TEASE!! Tease your hair! As for the dress. Band shirts, cartoon characters, vintage, tight tees and layerd colorful tops. Makeup; Eyeliner, colorful eyeshadows, pale face, cat eye effect, sheer lip gloss[if any;no color on the lips], mascara, fake eyelashes and more. Accessories!! Necklaces[Hello Kitty;;peace signs;;colorful beads;;anything that get attention] hair bows, bracelets[colorful home made ones!! with the beads ya know?] belts[studded], rings, and anything else you want!!
If you guys have questions about anything, eMail me! i check my mail at lease twice a week :]

People, stop labeling yourselves! I used to label myself, and I regret it. People would actually ask me, “Are you emo?” and me, being completely retarted, would say ‘yes’. I seriously regret it. I actually know what the word ‘emo’ is. It’s a MUSIC CATEGORY. Yeah, A MUSIC CATEGORY. I do, in fact, dress in skinny jeans and studded belts. I tease my hair and wear different colored extensions. I dye my hair too. You could actually call me a ‘emo kid’ or ’scene kid’ behind my back, and — and since you people think it means a way of dressing, or specific type of poeple,– I fit perfectly with what you describe me as. And I do know I probably get called that when I’m not around. Why? Because of the way I dress, wear my hair, and the music I listen to. I’m not ashamed of the way I dress or the way I wear my hair. I feel comfortable dressing the way I do and everything. But that doesn’t mean I label myself. Like I said, I fit perfectly in this culture, and I do not like it when people steriotype me, but I don’t care what they have to say about me. I am me. I will never change, but I will not label myself as a certain type of person. That is why I support these kind of people that dress this way, and wear their hair like this, because I do also. My point is: You can be you. You can be whoever you want, but you don’t have to label yourself a certain way to do so. As I said, I did label myself before, and now I stopped. Don’t listen to the ridiculouse, mean things people have to say to you just because you are being who you are. Like some say, “Haters Make Me Famouse”.
Just don’t label yourself is all I mean to say.

Tottally, I am in love with scene hair and clothes and stuff, but I dont want to come to school some day and be all scene. But I wish we (non-scene kiddos) would be able to go to school like that and not be unfriended and stared at.
