What is scene style
The Scene scene is separate from the Emo scene, and although the term is often used as interchangeable, in reality it isn’t. The Scene scene is much more about the fashion than the music, although the whole outlook of the Scene scene is a more colourful one. The easiest way to distinguish the Scene scene is to look at the clothes being worn, and there is normally none of the shyness associated with the pure Emo scene.

Scene is all about following the latest trends, subcultures and movements. This though means that it is difficult to pin down what the Scene scene is, as it will change from city to city and region to region. Local trends will very much influence what the local Scene is.

Scene Haircuts
Scene haircuts are constantly evolving and a definition today could be different from what is expected from scene haircuts tomorrow. Currently in 2008 scene haircuts it is all about using hair products to get a look.

For girls scene haircuts the current look is to go for perfectly straight hair. It is normally black with long coloured stripes; the colours normally are bright and can be neon. The fringe can either be straight or could involve a long bang covering one eye.
Boys’ scene haircuts currently make use of a slightly longer length hair at the back, which should be spiked, again with strong highlights intermixed. Boys are expected to have layers in their hair to a level just below the jaw line.

Scene drawings can be a mixed bunch, and are normally representative of the individuals involved. You will get self portraits which will show a pictorial depiction of Scene guys and girls. These Scene drawings will show an accurate depiction of individuals that includes a great likeness of the hairstyles and fashion involved in the Scene scene.

You will also find Scene drawings that are drawn that display the sentiments of those individuals. The Scene drawings are normally less emotional than those Emo drawings but can be equally moving in their own way. These Scene drawings will likely be of a more confident nature.

In their own way though, Scene drawings can be a great way of displaying the Scene identity of individuals.

So what are scene hairstyles? It is actually a retro look and harks back to the best days of the 1980’s music scene. There is though no true definition and many people see scene hairstyles as constantly evolving. There is a lot of similarity with the Emo hairstyle, and it is expected that for females at least, part of the fringe will cover one eye. There is though less use of black and more use of neon colors.

Scene hairstyles can incorporate mullets, bobs and long bangs. For the best look try spiking up the hair at the back of your head and straighten up the sides. Also use highlights and lowlights to create a really powerful contrast.

Scene Boys have all the girls
It can be difficult to distinguish Scene boys from Emo boys. Although calling Scene boys Emo will be considered an insult for many. It may be difficult to distinguish Scene boys from Scene girls although that is half the reason why people dress as they do.

Scene boys will have a typical scene hairstyle. Fashion wise Scene boys will wear tight jeans, which may well be girl’s jeans. Many will also wear makeup to a lesser or larger extent. Piercings are also important for scene boys and a particular fashion for 2007 and 2008 has been lips rings and septum piercing.

Scene boys are often considered to be bisexual, although this may be only due to the way the act rather than any sexual persuasion.

Are Scene girls superior ?
Scene girls are often perceived as thinking that they are superior to everyone else. This though may not necessarily be the case and Scene girls will normally just follow the latest trends and attend local events to an extent which is considered more then is normal. Scene girls can be observed on most streets, and it is fairly obvious due to the clothes that are worn and also the hairstyle.

Clothes will be tight fitting jeans or pants, with a tight t-shirt that has a log emblazoned on it. Make up also plays a huge look for Scene girls, and they will often overdo it just to make a statement. Scene girls are also considered to be an insular group only socialising with others on the Scene scene.

Scene fashion is one element that brings people to the Scene scene. The clothes worn are much more colorful than the Emo equivalent. A standard theme is the wearing of tight t-shirts, alongside tight pants. The tight t-shirts will normally consist of cartoon characters, band tees and may also be vintage items. Scene fashion is also distinguishable by an attempt to be extremely fashionable, with a more obvious care taken about appearance in general.
Accessories are important to Scene fashion as well. Large sunglasses are a normal accessory, as are white belts, fingerless gloves and wristbands. Going into the summer of 2008 it is likely that there will be further increase in the visibility of Scene fashion.

Scene boys and scene girls make Scene Love
Scene love is no different from any other form of relationship. Scene love may of course involve two males, two females or a mixed relationship. Scene boys are often considered to be bisexual or gay, some may be and some may just be trying to fit in with the crowd. Scene love is though often an insular kind of relationship, and scene girls especially are renowned for only mixing with others in the Scene scene.

Other than that Scene love is not normally considered to be as emotional as an Emo relationship, and a Scene love is not considered in most cases to be the be all and end all of relationships, unlike an Emo equivalent.

Why are Scene Haircuts and hairstyles so popular in 2008?
Scene hair is all about how individuals actually carry the look off, rather than any actual hairstyle or haircut. There are of course certain characteristics of Scene hair, dark hair with light, a spiky back and short sides are normally. A fringe can be either short or have long bangs that seek it hang down over one eye.

Scene hair is very reminiscent of the 1980’s music scene, and is epitomised by the use of bright highlights which may be even neon colored. It is unlikely that any one Scene hair style is going to stay with one person, and is often seen as an evolving process. The Scene hair is also high maintenance so could make a long time in order to get ready to go out.

Why is Scene style better than emo style?
Scene style is often considered to be the defining icon of the whole Scene scene, and is generally thought to be much more important than any defining music. Without the difference in Scene style it can be difficult to differentiate between an Emo boy or girl and a Scene boy or girl. Scene style is much more about color than the Emo style.

Whilst tight clothes, in the form of pants and t-shirt may be worn. There is much more color used on the tight t-shirts, the t-shirts will be much more fashionable and will also include cartoon characters and other logos. Do not be surprised if there is a great proliferation of Scene style in shops and magazines throughout the summer of 2008.
